Chieftain Payment Options
Chieftain offers two convenient ways to pay your premium: Credit Card and Online/Telephone Banking. Please note that all payment arrangements must be made with your insurance broker.
1. Credit Card
We accept VISA and MasterCard for credit card payments. For your convenience, your payments are automatically charged each month.
Simply fill out a signed authorization form, which is available from your broker, with your credit card information. Your broker will send it to us for processing.
The monthly payment date will coincide with the date your policy becomes effective.
Payment by credit card also allows you to take advantage of rewards offered by the credit card companies.
2. Online and/or Telephone Banking
Chieftain has made arrangements to receive payments with 5 major Canadian banks:
- Bank of Montreal
- Scotiabank
- CIBC
- TD Canada Trust
- Royal Bank
You must register your Chieftain bill with your bank’s online/telephone banking services. Please select the company "Chieftain" as your payee and indicate your policy number, including the three letter prefix, as the account number. If you have more than one Chieftain policy, each policy number must be registered separately.
Billing notice is sent monthly as a courtesy, but you are responsible for paying the same date each month, regardless of receiving a bill or not. Please allow 48 hours for payment to reach us.
